December 5th: Krampusnacht 2017 !

Bring in the Holiday Season in the age old European tradition of celebrating our favorite bad-child punishing, half-goat, half-demon, Santa sidekick, Krampus! This dark and sinister being punishes children who misbehave and gives them lumps of coal and straw bundles as gifts. The Feast of St. Nicholas is celebrated in parts of Europe annually on December 6. On the preceding evening of December 5, Krampus Night or Krampusnacht, the wicked devilish creature appears on the streets and chases people with straw broomsticks. Join us as Krampus makes an appearance at The Independent on the night of December 5! We celebrate his EVIL side with DARK AND STRONG HOLIDAY ALES ON TAP AND AUSTRIAN FOOD SPECIALS ALL NIGHT! We also will have a Krampas costume contest for those who want to join the evil deeds!
